You got a problem with mercenaries? Get over it.
Submitted by James Protzman on Sun, 05/18/2008 - 2:53pm.Joseph Neff at the News and Observer has a great round-up story on the trials, tribulations and triumphs of Erik Prince, dark lord over all things Blackwater. Mr. Prince, as you know, is the top dog among mercenary mongrels here in the states. I hope you'll go read the article and learn how the Democratic Congress is continuing to pour money into Prince's pockets.
What's this about?
Submitted by James Protzman on Tue, 02/19/2008 - 2:55pm.Nothing Freedom Fries Jones does any more surprises me. Instead of spending whatever little political capital he has working to help working people, he puts all his time and energy into promoting "his" god, the pledge of allegiance, and now, the English language. Thanks to the Dome for digging up the story.
Conservative my @$$

Freedom Fries Jones sent me an email today bragging on how he's signed on to a conservative economic stimulus plan that screws regular people who do real work - again - while rewarding fat-cat investors. I wonder how long the constituents in the 3rd district will stand by and let this fool trample their interests.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Third District Representative Walter B. Jones (R-NC) has joined Rep. Scott Garrett (R-NJ) and other conservative colleagues in sponsoring H.R. 5109, the Economic Growth Act of 2008. The bill is an economic stimulus package which promotes job preservation and creation, long-term economic growth and a lower tax burden.
Marshall Adame in the news
Submitted by James Protzman on Wed, 12/26/2007 - 1:22pm.With the end of the year in view, the Jacksonville Daily News has finally started covering the Congressional race in NC-3. It's about time. As you know, Marshall Adame is seeking to take out Walter "Freedom Fries" Jones, an elected official who has professed that his only allegiance is to his god.
In any case, here's some good stuff from Marshall:
Show some respect
Submitted by James Protzman on Wed, 09/26/2007 - 1:40pm.Of all the people I have trouble understanding, Walter Jones is near the top of the list. One day he says his only allegiance is to his Lord, which is a strange thing for a sworn-in Congressman to say in my book. And now he's clamoring for kids in schools to be able to wear flags, as long as they're worn in a respectful manner. I just got another email from him on this burning (no pun intended) issue:
NCGOP: Give us your extremists, your loud-of-mouth

Rob Christensen gets around to writing something worth reading today, in a rambling review of the Wild and Wacky World of Walter Jones.
Jones says the GOP has drifted from the small government philosophy that characterized it in 1995 when Republicans took control of Congress. He said the views of the 3rd District on the Iraq war have been evolving, just as they have elsewhere in the country. He thinks he has built up a reservoir of good will through his constituent work and social conservatism that will see him through the 2008 election.
Jones says he views himself as more of a populist than a party-line guy. "On some issues my party's right, and on some issues it's wrong," he said. "I don't have blind allegiance. My only allegiance is to my Lord."
If that isn't reason enough to dump a Congressman from office, I don't know what is. Because unless I'm mistaken, Walter has just renounced his oath of office, while lying about all his other allegiances, including this one.
Who hates gays the most?
Submitted by James Protzman on Mon, 08/20/2007 - 11:04am.Any article that starts with an invocation of Ronald Reagan is guaranteed to be pretty much worthless, but this post by Jim Kouri on The Common Voice, is at least amusing. (The Common Voice appears to be a mirror site to The Conservative Voice). It's a front-row seat into Republican whining about who hates gays the most . . . Walter Jones or Joe McLaughlin.
During his brief time on this earth, President Ronald Reagan uttered dozens of memorable quotes. Arguably one of the most important Reagan quotations is, "Thou shall not speak ill of another Republican." Obviously, that commandment has not been heeded in recent years by many Republicans, especially those claiming to be conservatives.
On Smarter Voting, Or, It's Time To Toss Those Old, Cold, Freedom Fries

Walter Jones shows up late to another Party
Submitted by Blue South on Tue, 04/03/2007 - 12:47pm.The classic saying is, "Better Late than Never". Well, at what point does being late start to become unacceptable?
In 2003 Walter Jones voted against the disasterous Prescription Drug Plan pushed for by the Republican Party. This is and was a good thing.
However, he is just now getting to talking about it with the press.

The hand-writing is on the wall. The United States Navy will not get its wishes at Site C. The list of powerful elected officials opposing the site has reached a critical mass. Even poor old Walter Jones has finally seen the light and jumped off the OLF train.
WASHINGTON, N.C. Another congressman who represents voters near a proposed Navy landing field in eastern North Carolina says the site isn't the best one for the project. Rep. Walter Jones, R-N.C., represents Beaufort County and said in a letter to Navy Secretary Donald Winter that the Navy should pick another site in North Carolina for the outlying landing field, or OLF. Jones is a member of the House Armed Services Committee.
