Take Me Out to the Ball Game - Open Thread

I've a crappy week - so I'm going to start my weekend early by celebrating some good things to lift my spirits. Feel free to celebrate with me. (I'm only drinking Diet Pepsi, but it's good and cold!)

#1 We're going to Durham to see the Bulls play tonight! Whooo! I love baseball!

#2 On my way into work this morning, I spied the local Obama office (175 W. Pennsylvania St., Southern Pines.) Whooo! This things is real! I love that part of politics.

#3 Chocolate. I have some. MMMMMMMMM.

What's up with you?

Enjoy the game

I don't see any HQs as they don't put them out in cow pastures and I don't venture toward civilization too often. I have seen an Obama bumper sticker on a car at the middle school for several months and Ross Overby has his signs up out my way.

Grins ...

My Republican neighbors have "Daniel Johnson 2008" signs in their yards! Would be nice if it actually happened, but ... I feel like a tiny blue dot in a really red district.

Enjoy the game. After seven years in Balto, just a short lightrail ride from Camden Yards, I miss the game. Watching the Crawdads just doesn't feel quite the same.

Now THIS comment gives me something to smile about

heading into the weekend.

Robin Hayes lied. Nobody died, but thousands of folks lost their jobs.

was registering voters like crazy

We've been doing a "tour of high schools" with the Obama campaign here in Cabarrus County for the past few days, trying to get as many new registered voters as possible.
We registered 80 at one school, 100 at another, etc.
The pattern was always the same though:
20% Republican, 40% Democrat, 40% Unaffiliated.
Some kids told me it wasn't "cool" anymore to register as a Republican.
I see a healthy future for this red county ;-)

Registering to Vote

I took my grandson who just turned 18 to register to vote on Monday. He can't wait to vote for Obama. The kids love Obama. I like the fact that my grandson can't wait to vote.

Yay, Love!

You are much too young to have an 18-yr-old grandson. Miss you terribly.

Locke Fdn now talking in code. What does this mean?

http://www.johnlocke.org/lockerroom/lockerroom.html?id=15431

What does this mean???

Locksters:

OK, I'm asking for some guidance here. When it comes to graffiti, what if any are the ethical guidelines that cover graffiti? Say I were for some reason to put up some impromptu signage—essentially graffiti—and then some enterprising ne'er-do-well comes along and adds, deletes, or alters my carefully crafted work, changing its message in the process.

Am I obligated to leave the new stuff, and allow the whole thing to morph unrestricted, or can I 1) remove the additional material (thus restoring my message to its pristine state), or, 2) remove my own original graffiti, (thus rendering the follow-on graffiti senseless)? I am getting a Super headache over this, so I'm calling for a moratorium on the graffiti at this point. Thanks for any advice.

It means you need to get a life, bub.

Even I don't go slogging through the Locker Room anymore. It's just about the creepiest place on earth, except for a sewer I once crawled through in southern Spain while on a NATO training exercise.

Thanks, LoftT. This is hilarious.

TrueMeckDem on Myers Park Pat

"My opinion of Pat has changed over the years. I used to think he was truly a man of the people but the longer he has been mayor, the less I think of him.

As with most cities, Charlotte has three political parties: Dem, Rep, and Chamber of Commerce. Pat is definitely the puppet of the COC here. What is good for business is good for Charlotte and Pat ... very personable guy, he has gotten a bunch of Dems in these parts to vote for him but I don't trust him."
