Thank you, Bob Novak, kind of

Novak [Photo from TPMMuckraker]

The "kind of" refers to his complete disdain when he writes this week that "no one -- and we mean absolutely no one" reported Patrick McHenry's latest spanking (and this time by his own kind, 249-174):

Meanwhile, events during the last week of June demonstrated that the celebrated transparency in the House is a sham. Amendments to strike transparent earmarks are brought up for a floor vote, they are overwhelmingly defeated and the news media completely ignore the story. Searches of Lexis-Nexis and Google News suggest that no one -- and we mean absolutely no one -- has picked up on the story of Rep. Patrick McHenry (R-N.C.) and the embarrassing fight he lost to keep an earmark in his district.

Now, I know, I know, he was only bringing it up to daintily point out that the Democrats are not doing as good of a job as he obviously wants them to do. (Isn't his idealism cute!) But it was just so adorable of him to use the words "Patrick McHenry" and "embarrassment" in the same sentence that I'll forgive him for being so blogodensious, and so tremendously hypocritical in his criticism on one party's comparatively minor failings in comparison to the party he so blindly (and so profitably) supports.

And if absolutely no one picked up on it, how did he find out about it? Did he read about it here or here or here or here or here or here? Oops, I forgot all those media outlets don't exist. He must have been right there in the gallery of Congress to witness the smackdown.

Oh, P.S., Mr Novak, I scrolled down to your comments on Al Franken. Why does he "claim" to have raised 1.9 million while his Republican opponent "announces" his and the primary candidate "declares?"

Niiiiice

Novak scares me

Robin Hayes lied. Nobody died, but thousands of folks lost their jobs.

Hey and Brad Miller commented on it

here at Blue NC. Do you think Bob Novak considers a Congressman to be no one?

Poor Pat.

Too stupid by light years to be anything but a pawn.

The only thing scary about Bob Novak ..

is the public platform he enjoys.

His overwhelming distain for Democrats and anybody-else who criticizes the President is no service to America.
In the political sense, he is NO credit to his country.

bob novak

is a pompous, self-serving piece of shit.

Does this make any sense?

Just read this in the New York Sun:

"I think journalists are smarter, better educated today, but they're so interested in getting an angle, they miss a lot of stories," Mr. Novak said. "I'm always stunned at how many stories just aren't covered on the Hill. I don't think they cover what's happening on the floor of the House. They are all looking to be Woodward and Bernstein." Mr. Novak cited a "big battle" over earmarks on Capitol Hill that involved a Democratic effort to single out for termination only one earmark — offered by a Republican congressman, Rep. Patrick McHenry of California [sic]. This story, he suggested, reflected the cynicism of legislators. As far as the community of Web commentators goes, Mr. Novak said he wasn't impressed. "The bloggers bloviate. They give their opinions. They don't try to find things out."

The mainstream press didn't cover McHenry but the bloggers just bloviated? So he somehow covered the story without bloviating? Is that what he's trying to say? Right.

News of the 10th district: See Pat Go Bye Bye,

Odd that he used the term "bloviate"

Since that's something that has often been used to describe McHenry. Perhaps Novak has been lurking on the blogs!

Yeah, and ?

Woodward and Bernstein defined investigative reporting (to my knowledge) for my particular generation. Can you say, 'career maker'?

However, there is still the day to day reporting from which you hone your skills and define your talent. One never knows where the diamond will be found.

We the People deserve all the news that's fit to print - we can do without that which isn't.

As to:

It takes one to know one and I haven't heard of you either. So there. :p

We get to decide what's "fit".

He's certainly defines journalistic

integrity, doesn't he? What a bag of wind. The only question remains is: what does he have on people that he continues to find gainful employment?
