Thanks, Mr. Nader!

Dear Mr. Nader:

I remember you told us there was no difference between Gore and Bush, between Republicrats and Democans. Remember that? You fooled 97,000 Floridians into voting for you because you convinced them their vote would have no effect anyway. Remember that? And then Gore won Florida, but not convincingly enough to avoid having it taken away?

Remember that? And then you still said it wouldn't make any difference.

Guess what?

You're wrong.

Our friends in conservo-land celebrate this ruling as some kind of victory.

Read this story, and see why the jihad against a little-used but sometimes medically-necessary procedure has real world consequences that have very little to do with "reason and basic human decency." There is very little reasonable or humanly decent about forcing a woman to wait in a hotel room while her body prepares to deliver a dead fetus "naturally."

Or this story (HT - Digby) in which a mother and father are faced with twins, one fully inside the uterus, and one descending far too early into the birth canal. The one in the birth canal will never survive, under any medical circumstance. The one in the uterus will, but only if the one in the birth canal can be removed without rupturing the membranes around the other.

"Justice Kennedy," his four fellow extremists, and the United States Congress just told this couple they have to let both children die.

Consequences. Differences. Welcome to the world of a Supreme Court that refers to Obstetricians as "abortion doctors."

Elections have consequences. There are real differences.

Thanks, Ralph. Thanks a bunch.

Couldn't agree more.

Thanks for writing this.

Excellent, DFL

Thanks for beating the drum.

Robin Hayes lied. Nobody died, but thousands of folks lost their jobs.

Extremely well done.
