The problem with Libertarianism: Part 1 (political cartoon)
Submitted by stormbear on Tue, 12/05/2006 - 9:35am
Some of the ideals of Libertarianism are ok, right to privacy, free expression, etc. But the problem I have with the philosophy as a whole is it de-powers community. It is very much a me-centric ideology.
Me. Me. Me.
National forests? No way, sell them to someone. Community hospital - are you insane? Bring in a private contractor to heal the sick. Local police? Not on my watch - private security.
The extreme ends of this philosophy drives people apart.
Aren’t we divided enough as it is?

Yoyo vs. Witt
"You're on your own" versus "We're in this together."
I agree.
Maybe it is just me, but these "democratic libertarians" really just seem like Democrats that want to avoid being called liberal.
CountryCrats - my thoughts, my blog.

I agree.
But you should see the BAR FIGHT over at dKos on the subject.
Hell, I didn't know THIS STRIP was going to be controversial!
Penguins with separation anxiety, who knew?

The folks cheering for Halliburton on dKos is the real damn shocker.

no kidding
"Halliburton is just good at what they do."
What that really shows is how difficult it is going to be to fully recover from the joyous Reagan and 1994 Republican "Revolutions".

What they do
is rip off taxpayers, finagle sweetheart no-bid contracts, grease skids and launder money.
Yep, they're good at what they do.
Damn, Blue South has done it.
Now he is supposed to be a student of Das Kapital!
Jeesh, what a day on dKos.
