When Perdue announced support at a Chapel Hill news conference for environmental legislation that, among other things, would put some of the state's investment portfolio in environmentally friendly companies, Moore quickly noted that the state investment fund he manages is already doing so.
It seems like years ago when I just about begged the two likely Democratic candidates for governor to avoid a destructive primary. I knew it would eventually degenerate into an old-time pissing contest - I just didn't realize it would happen so fast.
Neither is being coy; both clearly would like to lead the state. And both say their extensive background in political office in Raleigh has seasoned them for the top job. "My work in the General Assembly and as lieutenant governor shows that I know how to get things done," Perdue said in an interview this month.
To which Moore countered: "I have something that no one else who is actively considering being governor now has. I have 11 years of executive branch, managerial experience at a very high level."
You know what I have? A headache.
I've been on the Perdue bandwagon from the get-go and still am. I think she's the right person for the job and I intend to vote for her if she stays in the race. But I have to tell you, I'm not looking forward to another 18 months of this kind of happy horseshit. And neither are the people of North Carolina. Perdue and Moore are going to rip each other apart - you can see it coming - and the Republicans in the Party of Greed couldn't be happier about it.

its absurd
The N and O had a similar (or maybe the same) article today. It claimed that neither had officially announced. Apparently saying, "I am running for Governor" isnt enough. I mean Perdue has been in print 3 times by my count saying "I am running", what more do they want?

There are two new books out for people interested in North Carolina politics.
Nathan Tabor, a former congressional candidate from Kernersville and founder of TheConservativeVoice.com, has written a book critical of the United Nations. It is called "The Beast of the East River: The UN's Threat to American Sovereignty and Security."
Tabor was recently on TV evangelist Pat Robertson's program to plug his book.

There are two lousy new books out for republican people interested in North Carolina politics and why they got their butte kick in the last election.
Clearly this is an example of their strong bench strength with these candiate authors for the future.
Nathan Tabor, a former 2 time loser 28 old year Republican congressional and state senate candidate from Kernersville and owner of 5034 domain names of other candiate names on the internet and founder of TheConservativeVoice.com, has written a book critical of the United Nations and President Bush for having his pet goat make a appeal to the General Membership last year why we were winning in Iraq. It is called "The Beast and Red Goats of the East River: The UN's Threat to American Sovereignty and Security and the Foxx's Bill O'Really factor show"
Tabor was recently on TV evangelist Pat Robertson's program to plug his book which created another problem for brother Robertson when Tabor accuse him of running a Goat slave trade operation in South American with Exxon Oil suppying the gas for the slave traders slave ships. However in the true Christian spirit for diffences with brothers, they were able to give each other a group love hug in front of millions of stunned TV viewers when they did it in the nude to prove they had no secrets to hid from each other as brothers.
Both were later arrested by a Virgina Beach SWAT task force sexual unit from the Law and Order TV series after the show. Mr Robertson is facing 4 charges of hugging to close to a man with a child like brain and Mr Tabor is facing 2 changes for selling SoyBean milk to a over age senior citizen pervert.

Tabor's family business Revival Soy is a major sponsor of Pat Robertson's CBN/ 700Club so it's no surprise that Robertson would be hawking Tabor's waste of paper.
The UN is another straw man for wingnuts to rail against. The Family Research Council and Focus on the Family recently criticized a world treaty guaranteeing the rights of people with disabilities approved by the UN because it didn't include the rights of the "pre-born".
