The North Carolina Education Lottery
Two off-the-wall ideas spawned by this op-ed piece.
What if 100% of the money people win playing the North Carolina Education Lottery had to be spent on education? (Answer: Nobody would play.)
And this one:
What if all the revenues from the North Carolina Education Lottery were allocated to vouchers for any family that wanted them, and could be spent at any certified public or private school? (Answer: The free-market extremists would think they'd died and gone to heaven ... and would even support the despicable lottery.)
I'm considering making a deal with the free-market extremists. If they jump on the "health care is a right" bandwagon and commit to universal health care with no exceptions, I'll jump on the voucher bandwagon and support redistributing money to families for whom public school education isn't a workable choice.

The lottery is crap. The
The lottery is crap. The government should never get involved in gambling. It should have been kept where it belongs, in the back rooms, pool halls and rec rooms of our great state.
Don't forget in hot dog stores...
... but I guess that's only back in Buncombe County.
McCrory's doublespeak on the lottery
He has said he is for repealing BUT it would be difficult.
Therefore, he seems to be standing on both sides of the same issue.
A yes or no answer would suffice.

I'll have to book mark this and get back to it tomorrow.
I'm sleepy, and I just got some new scratch off tickets. I want to see if I won anything. :-D
