Virginia Foxx does something right?
Does the phrase "stopped clock" come to mind? This just in from the Dome.
The Banner Elk Republican is one of 34 cosponsors of the Blogger Protection Act, a bill that would protect bloggers from Federal Election Commission regulations.
I'm not knowledgeable enough to know if this legislation is really necessary or well-crafted, but on its face it seems like a good idea. I wonder why no other NC Congressmen have signed on to this?

I haven't looked at the legislation either
I have to admit...I laughed out loud when I read it. If she's a co-sponsor it can't be good. It probably provides for the torture of any blogger who speaks out against a Republican candidate. We'd probably better go over it.
Here it is
in pdf form.
I don't know about this. Upon first reading it seems innocent enough, but the more I look at those "exempted", the more I start to question the " or derives its main income from Internet activities" stuff. I mean, think about it. Amazon.com derives its income from Internet activities, right?
we don't derive ANY income from BlueNC
Robin Hayes lied. Nobody died, but thousands of folks lost their jobs.
If the EFF supports it, it's probably good
If not, it's probably safe to assume that the bill lacks substance.

here is Foxx's YouTube: http://youtube.com/watch?v=YApRrv8pHFY
Brent Woodcox at the NCGOP asked me what I thought of it, so I'm assuming that the NCGOP is promoting it.

i think...
i don't know much about it either, but looks like it just amends existing FEC code to make clear that blogging is not something that campaigns have to report as an expenditure or contribution.
i believe this is true without the law, but as blogging and internet activity become more and more important to campaigns i guess it's best to have it stated clearly. not that i am admitting it's "good" that foxx signed it or anything. lol. it's a no brainer-- like funding for Katrina Aid and low interest students loans or voting to increase the minimum wage. too bad she didn't sign on to those...
Roy Carter for Congress
She is such a nice old lady...
As a matter of fact, I'm looking forward to a "blogging" session with Roy Carter this Friday. I'm delighted -- Deelighted!-- that she's got my back!
My first rather cynical thought after reading the title was
.. must be an election year.
Person County Democrats
Flogger Protection Act
She forgot her glasses and thought it was the Flogger Protection Act and that it protected flogging as a method of torture and those who practice it.
"jump in where you can and hang on"
Briscoe Darling to Sheriff Andy
Well..
they say even a stopped clock is right twice a day, so who knows!
A Sly Foxx
If its something she's FOR, be careful! I don't trust her. Maybe this is just a no-brainer election year give-a-way. But as for our Virginia, she's slick as snot!
