Wal-Mart mobilizes against Democrats

I can fogive Wal-Mart for giving all their money to the GOP. The GOP is the party of the elite, the party of multi-national corporations like Wal-Mart. While prioritizing their own profit over of the needs of American families is unpatriotic, it's at least within the rights of global corporation operating within the United States.
What I don't understand is why American workers are subjected to constant and forced indoctrination as a condition of their employment. Wal-mart's political reeducation program is worthy of Stalin and Mao. It denies Wal-mart workers freedom of speech, in order to further deprive them of the right to association.
Wal-mart can take the profits they've reaped by destroying small businesses and donate them to the Republican party, that's within their right. What they can't do is tell their workers who to vote for. To do so is to threaten our nation's democracy.
(Reuters) - Wal-Mart Stores Inc (NYSE:WMT - News) is mobilizing U.S. store managers to lobby against Democrats in November's presidential election, fearing they will make it easier for workers to unionize, The Wall Street Journal reported on Friday.
In recent weeks, thousands of Wal-Mart managers and department heads have been summoned to mandatory meetings at which the retailer stresses the downside for workers if store workers unionize, the paper said.About a dozen employees who attended meetings in seven states said executives stressed employees would have to pay hefty union dues and get nothing in return, and might have to go on strike without compensation, and warned that unionization could force the company to cut jobs as labor costs rise, the Journal reported.
The Wal-Mart human-resources managers who have run the meetings didn't tell those attending how to vote in the November elections, but made it clear that voting for the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, Sen. Barack Obama, would be tantamount to inviting unions in, the Journals said.
Wal-Mart could not be reached immediately for a comment.

It is also obvious
that Wal-Mart stores are anti-voter registration drives. They are as efficient about driving away folks who'd like to help people register to vote as they've been over the last 20years about driving american manufacturing businesses overseas in order to lower prices for the majority of americans who's wages, mysteriously, have not been keeping up with inflation. Meanwhile, most of their workers are so poorly paid that they need taxpayer funded entitlements to make ends meet.
I swear Wal-Mart is the most ingenius moneymaking racket ever devised by man or beast.

it's hit or miss
Some stores act like you're out there mugging people, other stores have no problem with you registering voters.
Speaking of mugging people, Wal-mart did a study on how they could prevent violence in their store parking lots. They found they could eliminate the lion's share of violence, but that crime in Wal-mart parking lots didn't effect their profits. So they decided to take no action, and Wal-mart parking lots continue to be more dangerous than similar lots. You can see how much they value their customers.

Wallmart may drive people away in your area but they have been very accomodating in Mecklenburg. We have held several very succesful registration events at a couple of different stores. The most succesful ones were in areas that are heavily Hispanic and African American

That's awesome ...
but here, they refuse permission and chase (politely, of course) people doing voter registration away. It's very disappointing because invariably bargain stores are all GREAT places to find new residents and never-registered people who register to vote.
