Not for the birds.
Provisional tallies for 2007 show that nesting for some shorebirds is down significantly from the last count in 2004. Nest numbers for gull-billed terns declined 9 percent and those for black skimmers fell 11 percent. Nesting for the common term went down 13 percent.

Easy Green Earth
What an awesome business idea, Leslie. Absolutely awesome. I hope it goes really well for you. I love how you did your website - with your sales pitch on one side, and the environmental facts on the other side. Hard to say no to that. I'm afraid it wouldn't be too green to have you come do our lawn maintenance, but we might have to talk about rain barrels and compost bins.

Timely info
Thank you so much for mentioning this. I'm definitely planning to give Leslie a call and am passing the word.

Very nice, Easy Green Earth
If I lived closer I'd give you a call. Hope it goes well.
Go read this Indy story
It's a good one.
Answer me this, lotto fans
Why in heaven's name would the News and Observer publish a story like this? Are our newspapers now officially part of this gambling scam?
What a screwed up mess this state-sponsored gambling business is.
Scam or not -
I bought 1 $20 ticket for my son for Christmas (he's 18, don't worry.) He won $1,000. Best 20 bucks I've ever spent. Will I buy a couple of these new ones. You bet your ass I will. And if I win something, I might even donate to the campaign of my choice. :)

Good job!
Maybe if you buy 50 more, you can all the way back down to zero . . .
:)
I don't understand what you said.
It's really the first one I've bought - honest to god. I invested 20 bucks, and made $1000. Pretty good investment on my part. Now - I'm not sure about what it's done for the state, but my son used his winnings to buy the sweetest bass ever. (His words, and we're talking guitar, not fish.)

No wonder
what I said made no sense. It was supposed to be a dumb joke, but it was a stupid flub instead.
Anyway, congratulations is mostly what I meant to say . . . plus don't spend it all in one place (as in buying more tickets).
:)
Hah! He spent most of it
at The Guitar Center in Raleigh. It's what rock stars do when they come into a little extra cash, I understand. Mom wanted him to put it in the bank. You can imagine how that went over. We made him save a good portion because we know they're going to take taxes out.

Just for fun....
Try this sometime this weekend. :)
