Where in the world is Liddy Dole? And what was she thinking?!

Liddy Dole, who might have trouble finding North Carolina on a map, was in Montana this week schlepping for someone almost as shady as "Chainsaw" Charlie Taylor: Senator Conrad Burns. If you read Kos, you probably know he was the #1 benefactor of Abramoff money and Time named him one of the worst Senators in the US. He looks like a loser this year and Liddy was trying to save his sinking campaign. Even worse is that she was defending and dismissing his racially insensitive remarks. She called criticism of Burns "a silly thing."I can't even paraphrase this nonsense, so read the story here.
I was glad when I went to the NCDP site and saw that they came out swinging. Dole might not be on the ballot this year, but she doesn't get a free pass. Chairman Meek summed it up well:
"Instead of spending time with the people she professes to represent, Senator Dole’s spending her time in places like Montana trying to save one of the most crooked Senators. Even worse, she’s defending racial profiling."

Even Worse, she professes to be protecting
the sanctity of marriage by claiming that gay marriage will damage the holy institution. Yet, when the republicans were piling on Clinton for asking his intern to "Pull this", she was begging Woodruff to not release a story on Bob "Viagra" Dole's little affair!

The Senator from North Carolina Who Was Impeached
The House of Representatives did impeach a Senator once, Senator William Blount from Bertie County. The Senate expelled Senator Blount and, after initially hearing his impeachment, dismissed the charges for lack of jurisdiction.

I hope everybody remembers in a couple of years that she was never here. When the time comes she will practically move here.....until after the election. Let's make sure she is never re-elected.
How much time did she take off when she got her new face or was the before she was elected?

I'm almost inclined to scream "draft Mike Easley!"
And I actually thought Liddy would be an improvement over Jesse Helms ... but you'd think that the less conservative you are, the more political sense you'd have.
we've batted this around before
but the field actually seems slim. Maybe it is all misdirection, but no one is stepping up yet to say they will take her on in 2008.
I like the idea of Mel Watt if none of the NC state-wide officials are up for it.
