The P.R. Latta Award Dinner is the Wake County Young Democrats' largest annual fundraiser. We will use your generous donations to help elect Democratic candidates and turn NC Blue! We are looking forward to conducting phone banks, canvasses, and literature drops to assist local candidates throughout this fall.
We are thrilled to announce that the 2012 P.R. Latta Award recipient is Mr. Blaise Strenn. Blaise, a Young Democrat at heart, has embodied the spirit of the P.R. Latta Award through his longstanding commitment to the Democratic Party and what it stands for. We are grateful to have him as this year’s honoree.
We invite you to share our thanks by becoming a sponsor of the P.R. Latta Award Dinner. Your generosity will ensure the Wake County Young Democrats can continue the activism exemplified by Blaise in the coming year.
This year’s dinner is scheduled for Thursday, August 16, 2012 at the N.C. State University Club, 4200 Hillsborough Street, Raleigh, NC 27606. Social hour begins at 6pm with dinner to follow at 7 pm.
We can't wait to see you there. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Matt Calabria is the President of the Wake Young Dems. As a Young at Heart Dem, I would respectfully suggest to Matt and the other Wake YDs that if you really want to honor Blaise appropriately, that you arrange to serve at least one really good microbrewed beer at the NC State University Club that night.
Blaise used to be a brewmaster at what is now Big Boss Brewery in Raleigh, and I for one wouldn't want to give him an award on one hand and then insult him by serving Busch-Lite or some other flat and tasteless corporate beer. We already had 8 years of Bush-Lite, and that's enough for anyone!
