7th Circuit decision - bfd or ??

"A federal court in Chicago on Tuesday became the first U.S. appellate court in the nation to rule that LGBT employees are protected from workplace discrimination under the 1964 Civil Rights Act."
I saw reports that this is BIG but I'm still waiting for the sweet tears of NC Values Coalition before I believe it. Any thoughts?

Our Sharia is preferable to Their Sharia??

Is there some NC group tracking this stuff?

This (below the fold) was in the local, two editions/week paper. You would think a "Baptist" would realize that there might be some variations in Muslims -- since there's a bit of variation in just the folks that call themselves Baptists.

Anyone know any of the candidates for Geer Seat on CoA?

Martha Geer retired from the Court of Appeals so this is the 5th CoA seat that will be on the ballot in November-

Only 3 people filed. (I was expecting another YUGE long list but no.)
And, of course, only 1 R.
What do we know about the 2 non-Rs?

Donald Ray Buie (filing says DEM but voter lookup says UNA - it also says BLACK or AFRICAN AMERICAN so maybe the SBoE is just using race as a proxy for party)

What is the status of same day reg & out of precinct?

I was at the local BoE yesterday and the director mentioned that same day and out of precinct was still in effect and I think she said it would be in effect through November.

Did I miss a stay from Richmond? Or something??

My google-fu is not finding this info for me.

Anyone know?

Sample ballots for the June 7 primary are now available

The sample ballots for 6/7 are now available from Enter your search info to find your registration and the sample ballot will be linked. Or at least, mine is.
I've only got the NC Supreme Court Associate Justice race and I am leaning toward Mike Morgan with Sabra Faires as my second choice (but I only get to vote for ONE so...). I'll ask my senator what the consensus is when I see him at the County Convention tomorrow.
