Dole and Burr shown the door.

From the Charlotte Observer, it seems that state Republicans have flipped Dole and Burr the bird. What a farce that these two US Senators, one a former Congressmen for NC, try to flex their muscle and are SMACKED down by the state Republicans.

I see the bad moon arising.
I see trouble on the way.
I see earthquakes and lightnin.
I see bad times today.

I hear hurricanes ablowing.
I know the end is coming soon.
I fear rivers over flowing.
I hear the voice of rage and ruin.

RALEIGH - North Carolina's two U.S. senators, Republicans Elizabeth Dole and Richard Burr, this week attempted to delay the planned election of a new state GOP chair in hopes of recruiting an alternative to the current candidates, who include interim chair Linda Daves of Charlotte.

The move reflects a push by some within the GOP to bolster the party's fundraising ability and strengthen its ties to the business community. Democrats have outspent Republicans in statewide campaigns for years despite continuing growth in the GOP ranks.

The two senators backed off Wednesday, however, when Daves refused to postpone the vote.

Sort of like the way the rest of the world

now routinely tells W to go fuck himself.

It's really quite stunning how six years of unified Republican leadership have destroyed a reputation built over a whole century.

I just wanted to add my disrespectful snicker. :)

On a more serious note, our reputation in the world and the years and work it will take to restore it after the "destroyers and usurpers" (Treebeard) are pushed aside is a subject that's difficult to talk about at length. It makes my heart hurt to think about it much.

"They took all the trees and put them in a tree museum Then they charged the people a dollar 'n a half just to see 'em. Don't it always seem to go that you don't know what you've got till it's gone? They paved paradise and put up a parking lot."

I am not so surprised...

To me Burr and Dole are just following in Jesse Helms' footsteps. The WORST Senator for foreign affairs the nation has ever seen.

Helms was hated worldwide for his bigoted and hateful views.

Should we expect the world to see other NC Senators in any better light? Hell no.
