Family

I'm not going to identify anyone in the picture save for myself. I am the short one in front on the left. BlueNC actually had 11 of our bloggers/commenters in attendance at Larry Kissell's fundraiser in Raleigh. Todd was also there, but I couldn't find him for the picture.

Isn't this awesome? OK, so I probably have a much looser definition of family than a lot of you, but I figure there's enough love to go around.

More below the fold...

You might read several reports on the fundraiser last night. Working for Change took some excellent pictures and I think we're going to work together on a post. Between meeting Brad Miller and so many fellow BlueNCers and well....just getting out for the night without a child or two in tow, I had a wonderful time. Not to mention that the small price I paid went to a wonderful candidate.

By the way....does he not look extremely comfortable standing between Representatives Price and Miller? Me thinks he does......

More to come later. I just wanted everyone who didn't get a chance to attend know that so many BlueNCers were there and you sure missed out. ;)

I didn't mention also getting to meet

the very lovely Mrs. Targator. WFC thinks that TargatorBabe suits her better.

Makes me sniffle :)

What a thrill to read this diary and see some of the actual human forms that go along with some of the wonderful virtual beings that frequent BlueNC. How did you guys find each other? What's the secret sign?

Looks like the event was a big success, and I just love the picture of David, Brad and Larry.

Totally inspiring!

And I was

sad that I didn't get to meet you.

Lovex7

Dang

How did I miss out on the picture? I missed the secret handshake.

I was sitting one table away from at least one of you. My 3-year old was kind of occupying me, though.

It was a great event - 200+ would be my guess. I really liked seeing David Price and Brad Miller come out in support of Larry. This was my second chance to meet Larry and I must say he is the most sincere and humble politician I have ever met.

I was sad you weren't there....

I was already preparing to leave when you posted you were at the beach again and had forgotten that Lance was in Atlanta. The campaign staff put a blogger signin form out, so we were able to look for real names and match with usernames. I'm very loud and easy to find....hehehe. I'll send you a list of the userids to put with the pictures in a private message so I don't out anyone I shouldn't. I also have some other pictures I'll email later.

I didn't get to meet David Price

or that would be added as one of my thrills. He had so many people wanting to speak with him. I hope to meet him sometime in the future. He gave a great introduction to Larry and a great speech all around.

David Price

Bummer! I wish I had known you didn't get to meet David. I would have bull-dozed my way right in to him with all the class and grace I usually have. At least you got a great picture. I always reintroduce myself every time I see him, because I know he forgets who I am.

Lovex7

How could anyone forget you?

The picture of Brad, Larry and David is saved as "3wisemen" on my computer. hehehe

sounds like a good time was had by all

myself and another fellow wnc bluenc'er named screwy were busy yesterday representin' at the big heath shuler fundraiser in asheville. i'm sure one of us will post a full report sometime soon, depending on when the sunday chores and errands are finished...

Yes, we BlueNCers do have a way

of fanning out and covering the state, don't we? ;)

I can't wait to hear how Heath's shindig went. I'm sure it was wonderful. I have more pics, but want to wait and see if WFC or any of the others want to blog this with me.

the shuler thing went very well!

even though the place where it was held (the main soundstage @ blue ridge motion pictures) had little to no ventilation, and after a couple of hours the place started to reek of pulled pork and sweat, it went really well!

full report coming soon.

Sorry I missed the shin dig

Hubby had made other plans, couldn't talk him into skipping and attending the Kissell camp. Wanted to meet bluenc regulars! Maybe before the '08 election, we'll have another chance!

Southern Dem

please check your email

The highlight for me was meeting you guys

TarGatorBabe also enjoyed her mention in your comments.

It was her first campaign event. When I first met her, she thought that she was a Republican. This was mainly due to her being born in a communist country, and her family's attributing the demise of the regime to Reagan. My conversations with them and Bush's incompentance have made them all very partisan Democrats.

I am sure that I will be dragging her to many more events in the future.

I will never be able to drag my husband to a

campaign event, nor would I want to for obvious reasons. He might not be political, but there's no hope of a conversion. I have enjoyed reminding him who is responsible for the economy he keeps bitching about.

I love campaign events and it will be fun over the next couple of years to meet BlueNCers out and about. Can you imagine how busy the next couple of years will be with NC replacing a governor, senator, president and the house races in '08? We'll all go broke.

Hey awesome pic SD!

It was beyond cool to finally get to meet so many of you all again. I feel like I have met both you SD and WFC before. Maybe its the banana pudding talking, but i swore I have.

And sorry I did not get a chance to talk to you all during our meal, I noticed the BlueNC table too late. However we, my blue girl and i, made a new friend from Concord.

Anyways we are going to be a busy bunch with Miller Kissell and Shuler this year. And 2008 will not be any different ;) I look forward to working with all you great guys and gals in person and over the internets! Ah ha ha!

(Oh and I standing back row 2nd from your left)

Be just, and fear not.

Our children need to know that some people fought back, when others collaborated.

I have got to come down the mountain

What a great BlueNC shot!

I'll be writing up the Shuler event after a while. But know that it was packed, that Shuler was most passionate about health care and the environment, and that Governor Jim Hunt still has a lot of politics left in him.

Yay Screwy

That's fabulous! I'm so glad it went well.

Hunt.

When I saw him speak at the Sanford-Hunt dinner my first thought was, Jeez Louis, let's get this guy to run against Dole!!!

Did you know he was only 68 years old? If Reagan could get elected in his 70s, I'm sure Jim Hunt could.

Jesus Swept ticked me off. Too short. I loved the characters and then POOF it was over.
-me

I had no idea he was in line to be Sec Education

That would have been a good job for him.

Speaking of jobs, if Easley is a no and Hunt is a no, then who???

Great pics!

I feel so disconnected. I woke up yesterday at home to find that my internet tubes were horribly clogged! My cable router died sometime in the night without warning. There will be a private burial for the little fella sometime between 8am and 5pm Tuesday.

The internet tube thingies at work are fine. I reckon working does have it's advantages. :)

The real question is...how were the coasters?

Did ya'll have fun riding the rides?

Had a blast!

And i have the shoulder, arm and hip bruises to prove it! :)

It was hot, but the log flume followed by more coasters was a wonderful cure for that. The kids got me on the Hypersonic. It's not so bad if you close your eyes, make your peace with God, and realize that it's only a ten second ride!

Family

I want to thank you all so much for making me feel like part of your family. I'm not really a blogger because I don't have the talent. I am just a snide commenter.

Lovex7

You don't have to blog

to be a beloved member of the family. I mean...do you really think blogging would be fun without the snide commenters? You are essential to our blogging!
