First in Freedom! - A business opportunity

Are you a North Carolina entrepreneur? Or would you like to raise funds for your favorite liberal organization?

Have I got an opportunity for you!

One of the little-noticed provisions in the legislature's recently passed budget is this little gem:

Gives drivers a choice between license plates with the "First in Flight" slogan or a "First in Freedom" slogan.

It's illegal to deface any part of a North Carolina license plate. However, one can have a frame outside of the plate that includes a slogan.

Imagine driving down the highway and seeing a North Carolina license plate that says "First in Flight" or "First in Freedom" along the top and one of the following phrases at the bottom:

  • Last in Education
  • Last in Research
  • First in Bigotry
  • First in Racism
  • First in Corruption
  • First in Cronyism
  • First in Coal Ash
  • First in Religious Nuts
  • Last in Healthcare
  • First in Liars
  • Last in Jobs

Please, someone make this happen so I can have the joy of including it on my vehicle in the last couple of years I live in the state. Bonus points if you can match the font and background color and style of the official NC plate.

Cool idea

Will need a digital display to give fair coverage to the countless ways in which we suck.

Speaking of first in flight

One of the many non-budget items in the state budget is a provision to allow North Carolinians to choose either "First in Flight" or "First in Freedom" for their license plates.

Yes, really. Wish I was kidding, but I'm not.

Fiscal disaster, education in shambles, no coal ash bill -- but an alternative license plate slogan is a priority!
