NC polticians funded by "criminal gambling enterprise" per the Oklahoma AG

Gee, I don't know, maybe someone here should look into this:

A checking account used last year to make $235,000 in donations to the campaigns of dozens of North Carolina politicians contained the laundered proceeds of a criminal gambling enterprise, according to Oklahoma's top law enforcement official.

Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt finalized an agreement last month in which Burns agreed to forfeit $3.5 million from seized bank accounts. Court filings show $1 million of that forfeited money comes from the same checking account Burns used to send political donations to the campaigns of North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory, state House Speaker Thom Tillis and Senate leader Phil Berger.

And several other candidates, including some Democrats. And a whopping $55,000 straight to the NC Republican Party, just a handful of days before the 2012 election. Hat-tip to WRAL for keeping tabs on this. Somebody has to.

Well, well

...of course ol' Pat and the boys didn't know it was dirty money. But they didn't know cutting unemployment benefits would cause people to go hungry. And I guess they didn't know cutting the education budget would cause teaching positions to be cut. And surely they didn't know voter ID would cause minorities and the elderly hardships on election day.

To see if your elected crook took the Chase Burns pay off, you can look it up here...just like I did for mine.

Democracy NC

did a good investigation into this some time ago and among other things, they compiled a pretty good list of many of the recipients of the racketeer's campaign cash.

"I will have a priority on building relationships with the minority caucus. I want to put substance behind those campaign speeches." -- Thom Tillis, Nov. 5, 2014

Are you Surprised?

Frankly I'm not surprised. Money and Name Recognition seems to be the way to get elected these days. I wonder if the 3rd Congressional District Representative received any of that money? Might be interesting to look into?

This is why political reform is so important. Campaign Finances and Term Limits would help to dissuade these types of activities.

What happened to serving for the good of the people and for the good of the nation. What happened to placing the welfare of the country and the people above your own political and financial gains? What happen to the patriots of this country?

Patriots that love their country and accept our trust do not act in this fashion....Our political process and our form of Government, once the envy of countries around the world, has fallen on hard times indeed.

The greed in our country and the apathy of it's citizens are killing our way of life. Democrats must stand in 2014. Every GOP/Tea Party member holding public office in North Carolina must hear the voice to the Democratic Party in 2014. Let them know, "We're Mad As Hell and We're Not Going To Take It Anymore!
