Renovation of Lt Gov Office

Interesting twitter exchange today with someone called @NCHometownGirl, who apparently is a shill for LtGov Dan Forrest Gump. Which in itself raises the question, does he prefer Forrest or Lieutenant Dan?

IN any event, apparently Lieutenant Dan used his connections in the construction industry, he being an architect by trade, to arrange for volunteers to renovate the Hawkins-Hartness House on Blount St. in Raleigh, otherwise known as the Lieutenant Governor's office. There was a Grand Reopening in May of this year of the house.

This story flew under the radar in places like Waynesville - I mean, who the hell cares, or even knows, who the Lieutenant Governor of North Carolina is? But one has to wonder why an elected official would choose to seek out volunteers to do this work, rather than hiring a few of the tens of thousands of unemployed construction workers in our state. And does such volunteerism stretch the boundaries of minimum wage laws?

Little Diversified Architecture

How many schools did Little Diversified Architecture volunteer to design when Lieutenant Dan was their HMFIC?

The measure of our progress is not whether we add more to the abundance of those who have much; it is whether we provide enough for those who have too little. - FDR

For an encore...

...Lt. Dan is going to arrange for volunteers from all over the state to donate their materials, skills and time to renovate housing for economically disadvantaged people.

Just because he cares that much!

Don't hold your breath. Lt. Dan is apparently interested only in Lt. Dan.

Stupid is as stupid does.
