Thanks NC Senator John Snow

I would just like to use this space to honor a NC Senator,a friend and fellow vet. Sen. John Snow from the 50th District Representing the Counties of Cherokee, Clay, Graham, Haywood, Jackson, Macon, Swain, Transylvania in the exact same effenecent manner he did while serving on the bench as a District Court Judge.

He recently came to the aid of our 2 local Veterans Post's when we needed flags for both. He & I along with another Veteran spent well over a hour & a half on the issues of the Veterans of the 50th District. On how he could best represent us in Raleigh. He communicates with us often to keep updated on Veterans issues. He sits on the following Committies, Agriculture/Environment/Natural Resources Member Appropriations on Justice and Public Safety Vice-Chairman Appropriations/Base Budget Member Education/Higher Education Member Judiciary II Member Mental Health & Youth Services Member Opportunities and Needs for Economic Growth in North Carolina (One NC) Member Select Committee on Homeland Security, Emergency Management & Military Affairs Member Transportation Member.

From personal experence I know the following to be true of Senator Snow, Of the Bills he has introduced he has fought to increase & improve the Firemans & Rescue Squad Workers Pension, The Death Benifit for Part Time Law Enforcement and the Law Officers 25 yr Retirement.

He introduced the Meth Lab Prevention Act and SB860 to allow all Military Wartime Veterans to obtain Special Liscense Plates without haveing to pay a addiontional fee and makeing them Fre to Medal of Honor Recepients.

Other than Liston Ramsey he has done more for the 50th Senate District than anyone to represent us in the State Senate! When he served on the bench, I then worked in Law Enforcement. He served Honorably & Fairly and contuines to do so. We need his Leadership in the N.C. Senate. I am proud to know him and have him representing me!Dan Siler-

Snow will be contested

From the 50th district page on the NC Races section of BlueNC here, it looks as if Snow will be unopposed in the primary but has four Republican vying to be on the ballot against him in November.
