A Site Worth Visiting

In one of my meanderings over the Internet one day I ran across a really interesting site: Yes it can be said to be a “conservatives” site if you want to label it, I guess. I am neither a liberal nor a conservative since I hold strong opinions favored by both camps. I am however, I believe, an intelligent person who refuses to gulp whole anything without running it thru the test of the knowledge I have managed to obtain, and retain, thru the years. Then I may accept or reject the whole, or accept and shape to my own opinions parts of what I read, hear or see. That is what has come to mean to me; a place where I get others opinions based on their knowledge and in this way add to my own knowledge base. With this attitude towards all peoples opinions KNEE JERK liberals or conservatives annoy me. And, greatly sadden me.

Check out It offers news stories, commentaries from known writers and best of all, blogs from all over the country. People communicating with people for the first time in history. Think about how wondrous this is! As long as people can easily talk to people all over the state, country and world as they do to their neighbor then someday it may be possible to live in peace thruout the world. A clean and just world where all are if not brothers then very possible amiable acquaintances. You may find yourself putting it on your reading list too. BB

Spam Troll

The weirdest thing about this spammy troll is that it didn't link to the neocons at townhall.

Admin pull this one down?

Scrutiny Hooligans -

not a spam troll

just a neocon who thinks she is a moderate.

"Keep the Faith"

That's right, BlueSouth

exactly. It's interesting to see which wolves charade around in sheep's clothing out here on the Tubes. Neocons who think they're moderates are a burgeoning breed, I'm afraid, since many are now too embarrassed to say they stand for the lunacy they really stand for.

just as worrisome

they think they are moderates because of the effectiveness that places like John Locke have invaded the press.

"Keep the Faith"

What's truly scary... if the "neocon" become "moderate", what the hell will be to the right of that?

edited to add:I don't see BFB as "neocon" - from what I've read, she seems more of an all-over-the-place thinker, and that's not a bad thing. Personally, I'd never heard of, and after going to look at it, I can see why. I don't think I'll need to go back. But I hope Brenda continues to post here. Interesting, to say the least, and not neocon (I don't think), and not trollish by any means. She seems to be in it for the long haul.

Dear Lord, I had thought

Dear Lord, I had thought this was a site for intelligent human beings, but I see I was wrong. Why are you afraid of differing ideas? differing points of view? Are you afraid that perhaps you may be wrong and discover that fact? I happen to be for abortion. This A # 1 biggee for conservatives. Where were you when a 17 year old white girl was teaching Blacks how to sign their names so they could register to vote? Where were you when this same white girl a few years later was dragged off to jail for a sit in demanding an end to a war being fought by old men in Washington while young men died in a country we had no business being in? Where were you when this older white woman was helping women and their children hide from husbands and fathers who were beating on them and their children? Where were you when I marched with gays demanding they be accepted and any crime against them be punished severely? I have paid my LIBERAL dues people. All I see from you are nasty name calling words. You are afraid to THINK. Brenda Bowers

This is a progressive site, so introducing a site like townhall - which is a very well-known neocon site - is probably going to illicit some ire and maybe a few names. While, I know you aren't a troll because I read what you write and know you put a lot of thought into what you say, townhall is not a site known for disseminating factual data. It is actually quite the opposite. They are part of the right wing noise machine. They are simply a link in the talking points chain. I personally don't want to know what they think. I would rather get the raw data or news and think for myself. I believe that's how most here feel. We actually have some highly educated, very intelligent people who read and write at BlueNC. It just might be a bit hard to recognize when you're being called a troll.

When I espouse an idea that leans toward the libertarian or conservative, I expect some pushback from my more progressive friends. You might want to expect the same.

I agree with SD

When I read the orignal post, I was sort of shocked to see it here. Actually, she didn't get the schalacking that I've received when actually challenging an idea...folks must be slacking off.

But Justin......

we had a ball with your liberal/progressive thread. It had a huge number of comments and we weren't mean to you. Of course, we do seem to reserve some extra special pushback for you at times.

I have some questions for you (serious ones, believe it or not) about some transportation issues b/t Charlotte and Concord. I don't have time today to get them to you, but I'll try to reach you through your site.

Jesus Swept ticked me off. Too short. I loved the characters and then POOF it was over.

Hehe...I've taken my jabs at him too

Are you having fun?

not impressed

david horowitz has his liberal credentials. and he has done almost as much to change this country for the worse as karl rove has.

if you had linked to redstate and said, "this is a really interesting post i found" that would have been more than acceptable. but to link to a bunch of wacko, fascist liars and call it "a good place to go" is not acceptable.

and you wouldnt feel the need to justify your liberal background in every post if you werent coming to conclusions about almost every issue that are definetly not progressive by any stretch of the imagination.

"Keep the Faith"

look at the ads...

An ad for John Ashcrofts' book, an ad for John McCains' campaign, an ad for "christian Republic", an ad for and the recommended book is "culture warrior" by Bill O'Reilly.
Why would I want to visit a site like that??
Except maybe for a good laugh...
