Tuesday Twitter roundup

He doesn't want to find inequity, because that would knock the legs out of his fictional platform.

That's all demagogues care about, laws that tap into people's anger and hatred. That's not what government is supposed to be about, but guys like Kidwell will never understand that.

Not a surprise, but the numbers are startling, nonetheless:

The Virginia assault was just one of 3,795 incidents nationwide reported to the Stop AAPI Hate reporting center from March 19, 2020, to Feb. 28, 2021. Stop AAPI Hate documents reports of violence, discrimination, harassment and civil rights offenses against Asian American and Pacific Islander communities.

According a separate Pew Research Center survey, 31% of 278 respondents reported having experienced racial slurs or racist jokes since the beginning of the pandemic. (The sample includes English-speaking Asian Americans only and, therefore, may not be representative of the overall Asian American population.)

We've got a lot of work to do.

Kind of important, I would think...

Getting a little tired of seeing a Democrat push right-wing propaganda websites, frankly. Somebody is either not paying attention or doesn't care.

And the purposeful use of the term "critical race theory" is a lazy effort to make teaching truthful history seem like some sort of conspiracy by socialists. It's pseudo-intellectual crap that right-wingers think makes them legitimate.

But...his Comms team is the best! Or so he says...

I didn't think I could have a lower opinion of Andrew Dunn, but I was mistaken. They want Pinehurst to declare itself a "Sanctuary Village," apparently to provide a safe space for people to act unsafely (not wear a mask). That's some next-level ignorance right there.

There is no good excuse for not expanding Medicaid. There are a few disingenuous ones, though...

It doesn't restore my confidence. Quite the contrary. Most absentee ballots entail three mailings (request ballot, ballot sent, ballot completed and returned). If this were to become law, people would have to start that process three weeks before Election Day if they want their vote counted. This is discrimination of the worst sort, against those who don't have the mobility to vote in person. Shame on you.

That's also a tacit admission the whole point was to suck money out of the pockets of unreasonable people. Fleecing the rubes, as it were. There's a word for that: Fraud.

On that disgusting note, here's your Onion:

That's a lot funnier than it should be, at this stage of morning coffee consumption....
