I hope all of you will pay special attention...

... to #7 in 2012 as we are ALL going to need to live and breath #33 by getting up early and fighting hard each day to take back our state from the rightwing reactionaries. Which means I suck at #31, but have a shot at #27!

Let's fight the tyranny of big government.

Katy,
I'm sure Woody would be fighting against the oppression of out of control big government against the middle class. I resolve to continue fighting for the rights of the oppressed middle class who continues to get a raw deal from our government. I still love all my liberal friends and I will do my best to protect them from themselves.

Tyranny of big government?

The threat we face to our freedom is the teaming up of big government and big business against the individual. The notion that businesses have the same rights and privileges as do "natural persons" is a perversion of the Constitution. The idea that corporate money equals speech is a particular affront to the system of government of, by, and for the people. And the attack on individuals from the combination of big government and big business is coming from the so-called "conservatives."

Says you.

The middle class is being assailed by the left who want to perpetuate the big government system. Have you ever heard of anyone on the left call for cutting a budget? No they want to keep current programs and increase them each year whether we need them or not. The middle class is under attack from Moveon.org, George Soros and other groups who want to impose socialism on us. We will fight back.

Yes says me.

The "conservative" Supremes have ruled time and time again in favor of big business against the rights of individuals (Kelo and Citizens United, for example). Our own state is a leader in dishing out corporate welfare to Dell and Google and dozens of other companies. The financial crisis that led to the Great Recession is a result of government siding with Wall Street to tear down barriers between commercial and investment banking, and allowing essentially as shadow banking system to exist beyond the reach of regulators. It's really easy to figure out, by simply following the money.

I'm not in favor of corporate welfare either.

I understand that GE has not paid any taxes, that's not right is it? But they are real cozy with Obama. They system stinks and is in need of reform, but we don't want socialism, which is just as repressive.

Another item that really bothers me is American companies that outsource work overseas and get tax benefits for it. We need to bring the work back here. We're only getting junk from overseas and losing jobs too.

Ah, Frank...

I shall make a progressive out of you yet. One great and glorious day you will wake up and say to yourself, "Why, yes, I share this planet with others, and we are all connected, and given human nature, if there is to be order to the world and a prosperous future for tomorrow's generations, then government must and can play a positive role in making sure the rights of individuals are not trampled by the power of corporations and a mighty few with money."
